Okay so the thing to realize about Nocturne is that they are birds who exist both in the waking world and in dreams. If you're interested in reading more about them as a whole, you should slip over here and give them a look-see!

As for Aurelio himself, here is his full description:

Aurelio, the In His House He Waits, Dreaming Requiem Nocturne


Some might call this Requiem Lord an oddity for his rank. His waking world form is that of a moderately sized albino crow, and he seems rather fond of his Bondmate. He perches upon Brennen’s shoulder whenever he can, only taking wing when it’s absolutely necessary. Some people might think that the Requiem was ill-suited for his rank; his waking form is pleasant to look at, and he seems so subdued and affectionate.

These people have never been inside one of his nightmares. Aurelio is a sadistic, cruel creature--he takes pleasure in creating terror within the dream world, and his Bonded is a particularly enjoyable source of fear. The Requiem’s favorite dreams start off as subtle things--he likes to take people to favored locations, or to fondly held memories, and then he likes to make them… wrong. A dear friend’s smile will go just a little too wide, baring jagged shards of teeth; a grandparent’s patterned wallpaper will flicker, the designs seeming to track one’s movements just until one actually looks at what’s going on. The house you grew up in turns into a desolate hellscape built entirely of things that are wrong and utterly terrifying--and dreams like these are the Requiem’s favorites. He likes it when people question themselves. The slow build-up to edge and then the sudden plunge into maddened terror is… exquisite.

The Requiem’s form in the dreaming world is much more in-line with his true personality. While still a crow, Aurelio’s size is closer to that of a vulture. Reqiuems always look decayed in the dream-world--but Aurelio is absolutely rotted. He is made of yellow-brown bones, the skin and muscle completely gone except for his wings, shoulders, and upper back--and even then, his tattered grey plumage is more like a well-worn waistcoat than skin and muscle meant to aid in flying. A sickly and thin layer of miasma seems to drift around him, bringing the bittersweet smell of decay wherever he is in his woven dreamscapes. This monstrous form fits him far better than the innocent white crow on Brennen’s shoulder ever would--and he relishes in it, performing his subtle horror-work with quiet sort of cold glee.

Aurelio’s dreaming-voice is low and sinister, full of rumbling and very precise diction. He frequently uses a playful, condescending tone when dealing with his victims--and Brennen.


Now, what all of this basically means is that he really enjoys his job, that is making dreams into beautiful, twisted nightmares. Normally this will only affect Brennen, but now and then he enjoys pulling other people into Brennen's nightmares or if the fae choose to give him free reign to help spread some nightmares then well, by all means, guys!

So if you're interested in a nightmare or have no desire to be affected, just leave me a quick comment here. Brennen himself probably won't talk about it overmuch and it will be hard to put two and two together unless you're directly paired in a nightmare with him but we'll work something fun out, if you like :3
